Reflection

  1. How does your product use or challenge conventions AND how does it represent   social groups or issues?   Our product challenges conventions as the main actor in the film is of N ative American descent , which, as it is not common for Native Americans to get proper social representation in media     2. How does your product engage with audiences and how would it be distributed as a   real media text?   Our product engages with the audience by creating a sense of ambiance . Our product would be distributed as real med ia text through ads online to promote our product.     3. How did your production skills develop throughout this project?   In the beginning of this project I had little to know about the editing process of filming a commercial. Throughout the entire editing process I was constantly learning, I did not even know of any editing software prior to this project.     4. How did you integrate technologies – software, hardware and online – in this   project?   I integ

Editing process

Now I will admit something. I have never done editing of any type in my life. Needless to say I was slightly nervous for the editing process for our commercial. In the beginning of this I had little idea for how I would edit the film and what software I would use. Luckily, we live in the modern era where there is an unlimited amount of info and help on the internet. That does not mean I did not have to work to learn. I watched around a hour of YouTube videos trying to find the right video software. The software I decided to use was CapCut. I choose CapCut because it can be used on iPhone and because of the simplicity of the user interface. It seemed like the best choice for a beginner editor. Our group filmed around 3 minutes of action shots. I picked the best scenes from the 3 minutes for our commercial to make a 30-second commercial. The edits I made for all the shots include cutting the begging of the shots when the camera is rolling and I am giving Brayden the cue to start. I also

The filming process

Due to the abundant amount of family birthdays I had on Saturday, We did not film on the intended day of the 8th. Me and my group instead filmed the following day on Sunday. The filming went very well. Brayden was our main actor, I was in charge of manning the camera. Due to it raining I brought an umbrella to prevent water from dropping on the camera lens. Luke was helping all around, He was acting as a director figure and was in charge of holding the umbrella to protect the camera. Luke came an hour late, So for an hour Brayden and I were planning under an awning while we waited for Luke. The first shot was the easiest to film. From a low angle, I filmed Brayden trying his shoes and standing up. The second shot we shot was the extreme close-up of Brayden's eyes. I then move back zooming away from Brayden. We had to redo this simple shot multiple times because we kept laughing mid-shot. This shot served the purpose to also reveals his Adidas-branded shirt and shoes with an Adidas

The production update

Image
My team has not started production yet. We plan on shooting the film Saturday on the 8 th . Due to the fact a hurricane h it our home state of Florida, it delayed our filming . My team has all the props needed to shoot the film. The only thing we need left is the time to do so.I am more than excited to film our commercial . I cleared my entire schedule on the weekend just for this commercial. Id like to believe my group members are as exited as I am to work on this commercial. I have always loved the processes that go in to making some thing great . Having rough patches are what makes a journey so rememberable. For this commercial I am using Brayden's phone to film due to him having the newest camera and phone. We want to have the best video quality possible for this commercial. For our editing tools we will be using I moves and some sort of effect app to add effects into the commercial. More than likely the editing app we will use to edit the commercial will be filmora

Our vision

In this scene, we will use an extreme close-up of someone's eyes and then tilt to show the subject's entire outfit including an A didas soccer ball at their feet. This shot is to act as a n introductory shot , i ntroducing our viewer to the subject. This shot also provides the viewer with the setting .   This shot wi ll be taken at Holiday Park on the soccer fiel d . Second Scene- Then the non-diegetic sound will begin . We will use a tracking shot at a low angle to follow the subject   as they quickly and abruptly begi n dribbling with the adidas ball up the field. This scene will also be filmed at the holiday park soccer fiel d.   Third scene- The camera then switches to a close up shot . The subject will then run into frame and the camera will be at   the subject's waist down . These camera changes come o nce he approaches the 18yd box . The camera angle we film at will result in  displaying
