The first second filming day

Image
Hey blog. Yesterday we proceeded with our second day of filming. We met up at Sarah's apartment at around 5 o'clock once again. I rode with Sarah and Brayden rode in his car. I instructed Brayden to tail Sarah. On the way to the park  we filmed the scene of Brayden's car following  Sarah's car on a turn. The scene looked amazing. The headlight pooping up on the turn added great dramatic effect. When we arrived at the park we shot a scene from two perspectives. One from Sarah ( the abductee) and Brayden (the abductor).  I instructed Brayden to stay in his car as I filmed the first perspective to Sarah. The first shot at the park is Sarah starting to run. I then go into Brayden's car  and instruct Sarah to run through telephone. Sarah had her air pod in so we could communicate without her having to hold her phone. Utilizing technology to our advantage. I then instruct Brayden to follow Sarah as she ran. The climatic point of the film was approaching where i then take

The second first day of filming

Image
Hey blog. I met up with Sarah at around 4 o'clock yesterday to film our first half of In The Shadows. We discussed scene by scene the steps it would take to make filming perfect. Using our initial, wrongly vertically shot film, as refence we were able to get the job done. Filming went great. We initially started with the first scene of Sarah waking up from her phone alarm. After 30 seconds of awkward silence the alarm finally rung. Sarah arose from her slumber. Then I film Sarah turning on the lights and walking out the room. Before I continue its worth mentioning the first filming went way over time. Because of this we had to throw some scenes out. Notably a scene we had to get rid of was the one where Sarah opens the door to a knock of which no one was there. I really appreciated this scene as the director but it had to go in order to meet time requirements. We also has to get rid of scenes where Sarah puts on makeup as that also took over a minute and a half of time. We opted i

Meeting for our filming

Image
Hey blog. As mentioned previously we had to schedule a meeting to discuss when we are going to film. During our study hall period we found the time to discourse about said plan. We decided to film the week of the 24th. Due to Brayden's work schedule he more than likely wont be able to attend on the 23rd for filming. However we plan on shooting surah's scenes on this day in her apartment. He says that he may come during the final shots after he gets off of work. This will work out regardless as me and Sarah filmed our first scenes with no issues despite Brayden not being there. On the  24th we will film the park scenes with Brayden. I am excited for the park scenes as it is the most climatic part of the film and was the most fun in our previous attempt to filming. This time I will correct my previous mistake and film horizontally. Our dedication to learning from our errors and refining our techniques demonstrates our commitment to delivering a high-quality final product. Each s

Massive mistake rescheduling needed

Image
Hey blog. This past weekend we finished up our short film in the shadows Upon editing I realize a massive flaw within our film. Though our filming went great with Brayden and Sarah nailing their roles to a tee, I made a mistake. I filmed the entire film vertically, an absolute travesty. It was as if the film was supposed to be on a social media app you scroll by, obviously not proper for the formatting we intended. But its not the end of the world a we have a lot of time to re shoot. I'm not going to dwell on it however as again its just a small bump on a long road. Other than the actual formatting of the film being wrong the scenes themselves are very good and I am pleased with the outcome. We will just consider the first shots as a simple rough draft. I will talk to Brayden and Sarah about another filming opportunity. Again our schedules this year has with out a doubt has been the busiest we have ever been. With work and sport conflictions between all of us, someone is going to

production : Park filming

Image
Finally, Saturday arrived, marking the day we bring our cinematic visions to life. as you may recall, a last-minute decision led us to change our storyboard's plot: instead of the gas station, we opted for the park, adding a twist of suspense to our narrative. So after Sarah and I filmed our scenes at her house, We headed to our local park The shift in location turned out to be a smart move, giving us the freedom to capture the tension of the main character being followed and kidnapped amidst nature's tranquility. We felt this added a component of juxtaposition to our film, adding more depth. Filming in the park allowed us to explore different angles and scenes without worrying about time or onlookers. In contrast to the busy environment of gas station, the park offered a serene setting that allowed us to concentrate fully on our craft without interruptions. We were also able to retake several scenes as a result of the modification, making sure every scene was flawless. Du

Lights, Camera, Action: Our Short Film Journey Begins Title: Countdown to Filming: Preparing for Our Short Film Adventure

Image
We are all really excited about this coming weekend, which is finally here, the moment that has been waiting a long time to bring our short film to life. We are putting a lot of effort into making sure everything is ready for our spectacular filming. Our attention shifts to making sure that everyone is available and prepared to go on Saturday night as the appointed day draws near. We're doing everything we can to make sure that our team is gathered and prepared for action because coordination is essential. One of our team members, Brayden, has work commitments in the morning until 5. However, we've strategized to make the most of our time, with Sarah and I gearing up to commence filming around 5 in the evening. The initial scenes of the film feature just Sarah, providing a great opportunity to start off filming in Brayden's absence. With the camera ready and the scene set, we're poised to capture the essence of the story as it unfolds. As the clock strikes 5, our ca

Production blog: Change of plans!

Image
Hey blog, My group members and I have decided on a change of plans for our short film "in the shadows". We still plan on filming for the week of the 10th. However there is a slight change to the plot of the story. We originally envisioned a gas station scene to take place as one of the climatic parts of the film. However we have decided to scrap this part of the story after some consideration as the scene would prove to have many too many independent variables that are out of our control. The variables in question would be very hard to ensure proper filming protocol could be taken. Due to said stress we have decided to change up the script slightly. Instead of Sarah going to the gas station we have decided to instead set the setting at a local park. This would ensure No time constraints nor filming consent of private property, As we would now be in a public park . The decision to shift the scene from a gas station to a local park not only alleviates the stress of managing n

Embracing the Delay: A Weekend Without Filming Our Short Film

Image
As the weekend approaches, anticipation fills the air, but the camera remains untouched, and the script lies dormant. Our group had ambitious plans to film our short film, a project we've poured our hearts into, but circumstances had other plans for us. This weekend was meant to be the time when we brought our vision to life, as we decided the 3rd would be a good day, however fate intervened. Sarah went out of town, leaving our filming plans out. As one of the main characters in the film, Her absence meant a significant change in our filming schedule. In spite of the event, our team seems unfazed. We've devoted many hours to preparing, practicing, and coming up with ideas, so moving the filming date forward is just a small bump in the road. Any creative activity, including this one, requires the ability to adjust to unforeseen circumstances, and this delay is no different. It's an assessment of our endurance, forbearance, and dedication to the project. We decide to concen
