Production blog: Change of plans!

Hey blog, My group members and I have decided on a change of plans for our short film "in the shadows". We still plan on filming for the week of the 10th. However there is a slight change to the plot of the story. We originally envisioned a gas station scene to take place as one of the climatic parts of the film. However we have decided to scrap this part of the story after some consideration as the scene would prove to have many too many independent variables that are out of our control. The variables in question would be very hard to ensure proper filming protocol could be taken. Due to said stress we have decided to change up the script slightly. Instead of Sarah going to the gas station we have decided to instead set the setting at a local park. This would ensure No time constraints nor filming consent of private property, As we would now be in a public park . The decision to shift the scene from a gas station to a local park not only alleviates the stress of managing numerous independent variables but also opens up new creative possibilities for our narrative. With this change, we can explore different dynamics within the characters and their interactions within a more controlled environment. Moreover, the flexibility of a park setting offers us the freedom to work around any scheduling conflicts or time constraints that may arise. Speaking of time constraints, coordinating schedules for our short film has been a significant challenge. For instance, I have wrestling tournaments scheduled intermittently throughout the filming period, which demands careful planning to ensure my availability for crucial scenes. Additionally, Brayden and Sarah both have demanding work schedules that need to be accommodated. Balancing these commitments while maintaining the integrity of our project has required meticulous coordination and communication among the team members. However, despite these challenges, we are determined to make the most of the resources and time available to us. By relocating the scene to a public park, we mitigate potential conflicts related to private property permissions and can focus our efforts on capturing the essence of our story without unnecessary distractions. This adaptation reflects our commitment to delivering a compelling narrative while navigating the practical constraints of independent filmmaking.
