Short Film: What are some of my impressions? The short film "9" is our first true exposure to Acker's creative universe. The short and to the point style of the narrative pushes a focused scope of its plot, character development, special effects, and how he goes about directing. The plot unfolds with a sense of urgency, teleporting the audience in a post-apocalyptic world extremely different from the one we live in where mechanical beasts known as "Fabrication Machines" stay. Even through a small window of time, Acker easily pushes depth into the characters, creating an emotional connection with the audience. Even as the special effects are not Marvel Universe tier, they showcase Acker's readiness to invent a visually striking environment. Planning Blog: Location, participants, health, schedule

  Location: Sarah's apartment building is the setting for the film. There is a clubhouse in there that we can occupy at any time of day we would like. It is very spacey and has a lot of things we can be doing in there, such as sitting in the movie room, playing pool, ping pong, and Foosball, to set the scene of everyone being together as a group. It would be a nice sight to see since the whole piece is about friends becoming lovers, and these activities can show the aspect of friends having a good time all together.  Participants: The first participant is Luke, and he is the cameraman of this film. He will be behind the scenes, doing the work of holding onto the camera. The next participant is Elton, who is one of the main characters of the short film. He is one of the friends who admits his feelings to another character.
