Editing process

 Now I will admit something. I have never done editing of any type in my life. Needless to say I was slightly nervous for the editing process for our commercial. In the beginning of this I had little idea for how I would edit the film and what software I would use. Luckily, we live in the modern era where there is an unlimited amount of info and help on the internet. That does not mean I did not have to work to learn. I watched around a hour of YouTube videos trying to find the right video software. The software I decided to use was CapCut. I choose CapCut because it can be used on iPhone and because of the simplicity of the user interface. It seemed like the best choice for a beginner editor. Our group filmed around 3 minutes of action shots. I picked the best scenes from the 3 minutes for our commercial to make a 30-second commercial. Production Update Almost there!

 Hey blog. Since the last time I got back, we have made some changes to the film. We have been editing the film meticulously throughout the week. We have done so much to the film to have it match our ultimate theme of romance. We have decided to add a color gradient to the film to add a warm feeling to the atmosphere. We found that w arm colors such as reds, oranges, and yellow add to the atmosphere. I even read online and according to some sources, these colors can evoke feelings of love. That may be the reasoning for why we chose it. This doesn't mean we didn't experiment with other color gradients though. We tries other colors such as blue and purple, but they didn't do the trick like the warm colors did. I will say I am very happy about how Luke filmed our film. Luke filmed the shots very precisely, and is in my opinion his best work so far. I am really happy to see how he has progressed this year. Planning Blog: Location, participants, health, schedule

  Location: Sarah's apartment building is the setting for the film. There is a clubhouse in there that we can occupy at any time of day we would like. It is very spacey and has a lot of things we can be doing in there, such as sitting in the movie room, playing pool, ping pong, and Foosball, to set the scene of everyone being together as a group. It would be a nice sight to see since the whole piece is about friends becoming lovers, and these activities can show the aspect of friends having a good time all together.  Participants: The first participant is Luke, and he is the cameraman of this film. He will be behind the scenes, doing the work of holding onto the camera. The next participant is Elton, who is one of the main characters of the short film. He is one of the friends who admits his feelings to another character.
